Mission Statement
To provide assistance and resources to low income families impacted by social determinants of health. In addition, this organization will provide scholarships to college students who have a special interest in the Latino community and who are dedicated to raising awareness on health related issues.
In 2008, SUPERNOVA was created as a birthday event that symbolized the beginning of a new era in my life. What started as an annual birthday celebration has quickly evolved into Supernova- Celebrating Life, While Giving Back To The Community, a tradition that not only brings diverse communities together, but also provides an opportunity for guests to give back to the community during the holidays.
Through the generous support of our Supernova Committee, the networking of Doble Mundo Productions and various community partners, we have had the blessed opportunity to host a birthday celebration where guests are asked to bring an unwrapped toy or monetary donation as a gift to us- which in turn, we then give back to families as a gift from the community. Through this joint effort over the last several years, we have been able to sponsor numerous families right before Christmas and deliver toys/gift cards/goodie bags to approximately 100 children every year at a non-profit that provides transitional housing to children and women who are survivors of domestic violence! Originally, we never realized the sincere impact and heartfelt feeling that this movement would bring us. We hope that through our humble efforts, we can raise awareness on issues affecting our community. In addition, due to the amazing love and support that we are surrounded by, we were also able to establish, “Modesta’s Spirit & Courage Scholarship Fund!” Through this scholarship we hope to raise awareness regarding cancer among Latino communities! Thank you for making this dream a reality!
In community spirit,

“In the dictionary a 'Supernova' is a star that explodes and then shines it's brightest amongst all the others in the galaxy. Such a fitting name for a party that reaches out to help so many in the community. I've been very fortunate to be a part of the Supernova parties over the past few years, as we've all had a memorable night. The best feeling comes while witnessing all the donations pour in for the kids in the shelters who sometimes get forgotten. For every toy in the pile, it's a guarantee that not only will a child smile on Christmas, but so will a Mom seeing her little one happy during a stressful time. Supernova has proven year after year, that people ARE willing to give back to others and support their community.

” 'Supernova' is the name of the last song I ever recorded. I worked on it at a time when I was unsure whether I wanted to continue my career in music, although I had been extremely blessed to be in the music industry for over a decade. Shortly after I finished it, I started making moves to shift my direction to the field of education, in order to give the next generation of students a chance to live their dream like I was able to live mine. Although I decided to never “officially” release Supernova, it became one of mine and Adrian's favorite songs, marking a point of transition in both of our lives. From this one word came an event that I have been so honored to be a part of for the last several years. It is amazing to think back and remember that this all started in Adrian's backyard, and in a few years it has grown exponentially. Please join us as we celebrate life and love, and reach out to help many who need that little extra boost during the holidays. “
